National Events
Including postal competitions, internet events, and broadcasts.
NZAGC Competitions - start now for submission by 17 June. These are a film competition for students in Years 4-13, writing and art competitions for preschoolers through to adults, and a photo competition for students in years 0-13.
Writing to Parliament - start now, and encourage friends in this election year. A template letter is available from GiftEdNZ.
Blogging - please blog about giftedness, and respond to blog posts, particularly those of Members of Parliament, on giftedness.
Gifted Online Skype Chats - Topics are identification of gifted children (Saturday 11 June), differentiation of curriculum for the gifted (Monday 13 June), how to use Twitter to connect with the online gifted advocacy
and education community (Wednesday 15 June), and how to use Second Life to attend online meetings about giftedness Friday 17 June). Please e-mail mail4mary@xtra.co.nz to register.
Blog Tour - we will schedule blog posts on giftedness for you to visit, comment on and share via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter and other social media. These will take place before and during Gifted Awareness Week. Willing bloggers please get in touch!
Gifted Kids Programme Open Mornings - This is your chance to drop in to your nearest Unit or Centre to see first hand a GKP classroom in action, and learn more about our teachers, our children and our vision.
