Making Time for GO
The GO Programme
Welcome to
“GO”
(
Gifted Online
) – a New Zealand based education initiative using computer technology and distance learning to enable students, especially those in rural and isolated communities, to access a programme based on New Zealand’s leading face-to-face gifted programme, the
One Day School
.
Read on to see if
GO
might be right for your most able pupils.
Gifted children are not a phenomenon of the city or of any particular cultural or socio-economic group. They occur in all communities. At times, all schools will have gifted pupils in their midst. Gifted children are a very diverse group. Their areas of ability spread across the whole range of human learning and performance. Their interests and knowledge often take us by surprise.
Their diversity often makes them difficult for teachers to identify.

New!
Our original GO programme is now known as
GO Solo
. GO Solo students are often the only GO student in their school, and work fairly independently. To strengthen our relationship with schools, encourage collaboration between gifted students in a school and between teachers with an interest in giftedness, and to reduce costs to parents, we now also offer
GO Teams
. GO Team students have a teacher assigned to their team by their school who will contact them at least once a week for support and feedback. They attend chat sessions where they can communicate with other GO students, and have portfolios to share their work with the wider GO Community. Printable documents about GO Teams can be downloaded below. International students are eligible for our programmes, but all prices are in New Zealand dollars.
